Pure Testicular Teratoma Presenting as a Metastatic Germ Cell Tumor
Mature teratoma comprises 5-10 % of all testicular neoplasms. Pure testicular teratoma is rare in adulthood with an incidence of 5 %. Regardless of differentiation postpubertal testicular teratoma have aggressive behavior and microscopic appearance of metastasis may differ from that of the primary. We present a case of pure teratoma of testis in an adult presenting as a metastatic germ cell tumor.

Objective: We report a case that we believe to be the largest example of a testicular mixed germ cell tumor with a clearly defined histology pattern. Clinical Presentation and Interventions: A 21-year-old patient consulted a urologist concerning a giant testicular mass. At the time of presentation the tumor measured 29 ! 20 ! 16 cm, with a weight of 4,850 g. Serum ·-fetoprotein was over 15,000 ...
متن کاملBrain Metastases as Presenting Feature in 'Burned Out' Testicular Germ Cell Tumor.
Testicular germ cell tumors (TGCTs) are the most common malignancy in males aged 20 to 39, and the incidence is increasing. TGCTs have a tendency to grow rapidly with a high risk of metastatic spread. TGCTs generally present with a palpable testicular mass, yet may present less commonly with symptoms arising from metastatic disease. A 24-year-old otherwise healthy male presented with progressi...
متن کاملIsolated eyeball metastasis of non-seminomatous germ cell testicular tumor.
INTRODUCTION Testicular tumors most frequently metastasize to regional lymph nodes. Non-seminomatous tumor metastasis of testicle (NSGCTT) to the eyeball is rare. CASE REPORT We presented a 24-year old man, referred to the ophthalmologist due to acute pain and abrupt loss of sight in the left eye accompanied by its enlargement. Orbital and endocranial computerized tomography (CT) was carried ...
متن کاملFamilial testicular germ cell tumor: no associated syndromic pattern identified
BACKGROUND Testicular germ cell tumor (TGCT) is the most common malignancy in young men. Familial clustering, epidemiologic evidence of increased risk with family or personal history, and the association of TGCT with genitourinary (GU) tract anomalies have suggested an underlying genetic predisposition. Linkage data have not identified a rare, highly-penetrant, single gene in familial TGCT (FTG...
